Women are driving innovation, leadership, and sustainability in the Oregon wine industry, increasingly breaking through a traditionally male-dominated field. Female owners, winemakers, and leaders are shaping the region’s reputation, with notable representation in vineyard management, winemaking, and sales throughout the state.
While only a small percentage of wineries globally are owned by women, Oregon’s wine sector has shown a strong, increasing trend of women in leadership and production roles. “Oregon performs better from a participation perspective globally where women hold just 25% of executive wine positions. In other regions, just 15% of executive winemakers are women, so we are double that. That really should be celebrated,” said Bree Stock, the first and only female master of wine in the PNW.
